2022 Ted Simmons Award- Nominations Form

Nominations are now open for the 2022 instalment of:

“The Ted Simmons Award for Excellence in the sport of Tenpin Bowling.”

This award is an annual award recognising exceptional performance and significant contribution by an individual in the sport of tenpin bowling.

Open to all current TBA members who are affiliated with Tenpin Sydney through their participation in InterDistrict or East Coast Challenge Cup who have satisfied the following criteria. (Please see criteria on the reverse page).

 

If you would like to nominate either a bowler or a volunteer then please fill in the nomination form below with a few short words as to why you feel they are entitled to be the winner.

Nominations must be received by 12th November 2022. A short list of candidates will be posted on the Tenpin Sydney Facebook page, with the winner being announced at the InterDistrict Presentation Luncheon on December 3rd 2022 at St. Mary’s Band Club.

Award Criteria:

This award is an annual award that recognises exceptional performances and significant contribution by an individual in the sport of Tenpin Bowling. Outstanding representation of Tenpin Sydney and contributing to the promotion and development of Tenpin Bowling in Sydney in the previous 12 months.

This award is open to all current TBA members who are affiliated with Tenpin Sydney (members of the Executive of Tenpin Sydney are ineligible for nomination) — who have satisfied the below criteria:

 General:
o Whose character shows purpose and expresses principles widely accepted in the bowling community.
o One who, regardless of circumstances, takes a stand without concern for personal loss or reputation.
o A person who may not necessarily have a high public profile.
o One who has made a personal contribution to the association, which could warrant special recognition.
o Demonstrate a consistently positive attitude in all Tenpin Bowling endeavours, showing respect for themselves, other players and officials.
o An individual who has made a significant contribution to a sport in the areas of governance, sporting excellence and/or growth in the Association.

 Bowler (specific):
o An individual who has participated in Tenpin Bowling in particular Tenpin Sydney events (ID and East Coast Cup) or at a local, state or national level.
